God is doing so many amazing things through this conference. With running ministries, as we all know, it is so important to be encouraged, poured into, and lifted up by the Holy Spirit. This is exactly what the conference did for us. It was inspiring and most importantly encouraging to keep doing what we're doing. The number one most important thing we can do with our faith is share the Gospel of Christ with others. We walked away from the conference with that very encouragement in mind. That we, as Christians actually have the ability to define LOVE as well, and that is by sharing Christ with others. It was incredible to hear the testimony of a guy who was at the conference named Andrew. Maybe you had a chance to talk to him, but he was 18 years old and had come from Colorado with a couple friends....He didn't know why he was there or why he came to the conference, but the day he gave his life to the Lord was the day that we met him. When we asked him why he came, he told us he came to the conference to get saved. The day he left Colorado he told us he was doing every kind of drug except Heroin. On Thursday morning he gave his life to the Lord, and he told us that he no longer felt the need for drugs. He said his body was going crazy without them, but in his heart he knew he was FREE. Pretty heavy stuff. But that was definitely a highlight for me. An 18 year old kid, from death to life because of the conference. What a miracle! I've felt this desire and passion for some time now, and this conference only reaffirmed these feeling I've had....I truly believe one of the greatest things ministries can do is work together....partnering up and becoming one body. Maybe not partnering up forever, but working together to share the Gospel and build the Kingdom of God. We all have the same mission and purpose. Being at the skate conference was incredible and we feel so blessed we had the opportunity to be there. I felt so sad the first couple of days because all I could think about was the friends that I have that aren't saved that I wish could have been there. I feel like if you were to have come to that conference as a non-Christian, there is no way you would have left as an unbeliever....(Andrew for example). I would love to see this conference just blow up. If it's up to me, you better believe I'm bringing all kinds of friends next year. I would LOVE to see this conference reach out to an even greater audience beyond just skaters next year. If we were to be honest with ourselves, we all came to the conference not because we were "skaters" but because we were CHRISTIANS. I have surfer friends, and wakeboard friends, and friends who do neither, but I know 100% this conference is something they should have gone to, but they didn't because they weren't "skaters". I'm not saying this because I don't think the conference was great, because I've been to tons of conferences, Aquire the Fire, NYC, Passion, etc...and this was probably the best conference I've ever been to. That's me being real. I know this is long, but it's something I feel so passionate about and I'm ready and willing to make this happen for next year. I would love to see this conference not only reach out to skaters, but surfers, wakeboarders, bmx, motocross, snowboarders.... Lets bring together the Luis Palau Association, Livin It, and every other Christian "Action Sports" ministry and unite as similar organizations all reaching out to the same audiences. Come together, PACK OUT THAT AUDITORIUM, and hear what God is doing through all types of "skate" "surf" "snowboard" ministries.
