Things to Do in West Palm:
BEACHES
Palm Beach coast is unique from the beaches futher south. You will find a wider intracoastal called the Loxahatchee River, with islands throughout. This is a great place to grab a kayak or paddle board and head out to explore. You will also find the water a little darker and the beaches a little rockier as the Gulf Stream heads a little more east. You will find tidal pools, great snorkeling, and more.
ATLANTIC AVENUE, CITY PLACE, and WORTH AVENUE
If shopping is your thing, head over to one of these locations.
Atlantic Avenue is the heart of Delray Beach. You will find quaint shops, unique dining, art museums and more.
City Place is a popular West Palm Beach shopping destination that includes the Clematis Street Historic District. Here you will find a variety of well know chain restaurants and shops mixed in with a little local flavor all along the intracoastal waterway and downtown area.
Perhaps the quintessential emblem of Palm Beach affluence, Worth Avenue is a paean to wealth and style. The Mediterranean-inspired architecture, much of it designed by local architect Addison Mizner, is endlessly charming. The primary street is lined with delicious shops and light-wrapped palms, while vias (small side streets) branch off the main avenue and expand into lush, vine-laden courtyards that are oh-so-European. Retailers include a who's who of fashion and prestige, including Chanel, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany & Co., Hermès, Cartier, Escada and Van Cleef & Arpels. Even if you don't buy, make sure to wander through the area. Its wonderful ambience is as intoxicating as its top-quality merchandise. This area is also home to the famous Kennedy Estate and Trumps's Largo Mar.
LION COUNTRY SAFARI
As America’s first drive-through "cageless" zoo, Lion Country Safari has been a leader in conservation since 1967. Lion Country provides a habitat in which many endangered or threatened species live and reproduce.
MOUNTS BOTANICAL GARDEN
Palm Beach County's oldest and largest public garden. Mounts' gardens and programs provide the best horticultural and botanical information available related to South Florida's unique plants and environment.
